Default Peats Ridge Bushfires

Some of you may have seen the recent reports on the news about the Peats Ridge bushfires, well since i live on the central coast i heard the helicopters flying over so i thought they would be re fueling in the same place as last years bushfires and there they were flying in and out.

Just a few photos of the aircraft involved today.

A bit off topic and in another state but my brother lost everything when the fire destroyed his house at Clonbinane north of Melbourne this afternoon. He barely escaped with his life - at least 14 others weren't as fortunate.

My sister and brother in law who live about 10kms to the south in Wandong had the fire reach their back fence and my brother in law was drenched when an "Elvis" water bombed the tennis courts at the rear of his property.

AFAIK they're safe and the property was saved.

Yes the state is blazing, my uncle lost his house at Whittelsea and is staying with us, he said it was over in 15 minutes, came through the top of the trees and that was that!

Police are saying up to 40 could be dead. It was one hell of a day. Very sad and not over by a long shot.

What a bitch - I've been at Wandong VIC when it's been snowing and now this !!

My sister in law lives in Kariong NSW, not too far from Peats's Ridge and endured the dreadful fires in 1994. I've heard that a person has been arrested for starting these latest fires and I hope to God he/she gets the maximum penalty.

No excuses, no mitigation !!!!!

Yeh they are using an old football field in Mt Penang near the Kariong Junvenille Detention centre, just over the road from where i live pretty much. oh and there was another helicopter there which joined in the fire fighting yesterday a BK117 VH-BIF, does any one know where that is from as i know all the others are from Bankstown because ive seen them all before except for this one? i noticed that on the side door it has Precision Helicopters?

Here are just a few more shots i took from today. one cool thing that happend was the two Bells came in at the same time looked and sounded awesome.

and i didnt realise that each Erickson Aircrane had their own support crew truck lol

and also now they has put a fence up and have a fuel truck
