Default Airline Safety videos

There are many things to love about flying....... and one of them is flight safety videos . Which are your favourites?

My two favourites are the:
1) Air New Zealand 'bare essentials'- funny, interesting and sounds very kiwi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-Mq9...sh+div-1r-7-HM
2) Singapore Airlines safety video- soothing, professional, and I like their 'checklist' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXbN5H7KBLA

Recently, I've been quite addicted to the longer bilingual version of the Qantas safety video. The music is slightly different, and the extra illustrations are nice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_ObULL2pUY

I like the Air NZ one - but do they still use it or was that only used during the associated promotional campaign?

My favourite is V Australia's - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkr2JLeorJ8

For me the QF and SQ videos are too slow and tiresome... even knowing their importance and wanting to pay attention to the video on every flight, these would both have me dividing my attention between the video and the window. QF's does look good - SQ's needs updating IMO.

Delta's is infamous - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgpzUo_kbFY

V Australia is my favourite too.

But Virgin Atlantic sounds very boring (both the voice and background music) and the volume is too low (even onboard the flight).

The Cantonese voice in the Qantas video is too slow and sounds very unnatural. It sounds like its spoken by a computer than a real person.

Thomson Airways by Alice and Co. offers something different:

Doesn't suprise me about Delta.

Their subsidiary Song used to have a brilliant inflight safety announcement and indeed inflight service- free inflight cable tv, ife games etc for short haul us flights on an LCC!

It's not a safety video but have a look at this gem from Emirates "fasten your seatbeats" announcement. Anyone who has flown longhaul on Emirates will appreachiate it. (I think they gotten rid of the announcement not so long ago).

Matt- so how did Song Airlines compare to our Virgin Airlines?

To the best of my knowledge Robert, 'bare essentials' is the current Air New Zealand safety video.

Delta and Air New Zealand have got alot of free publicity, due to their innovative safety videos! Haha cheers Michael for sharing the Thomson safety vid...that was definitely an interesting one, which I haven't seen before.

I don't speak Cantonese, but the Qantas cabin supervisor on that particular QF flight sounds very authentic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xz6G...eature=related

Nick,

Song was an awesome airline to fly. What airline has proper IFE individual screens on short haul domestic flights for free?? and this was an LCC- they folded sometime in 2005 and became Delta again.

Some would remember the great colourscheme they had- green swirls- and a special pink one for cancer on the 757's.

The QF cabin supervisor's Cantonese sounds a lot better, a lot more natural. The one in the safety video spoke way too slow. You can compare QF with CX's safety video.

Cute for about 20 seconds and then painful... soooo slooooow and they did themselves no favours with the musak in the background.

Great idea - poor execution.

I agree about Virgin Atlantic's video.
