Default Ladders for spotting?

What is the view of airport officials on the use of ladders at Kingsford Smith for spotting? Obviously it provides an unobstructed view, but are there security concerns from the airport side?

As long as your 3 metres back from the fence, your fine. I use a ladder all the time & the Federal Police and/or SNP will stop & chat to you making sure your 3 metres back. Being friendly & polite also helps
