Ive noticed over the past couple of weeks when the A380 is parked near general holmes drive, the the rudder on the vertical stabilizer is always turned to the right. Is there a reason for this?

When the hydraulics are off, the control surfaces are free to move. It is the wind that blows the rudder sideways. You'll also notice the ailerons and elevator 'droop' too!

In a stiff breeze, the Boeings do it too.

I thought there would be a control lock to stop the rudder etc flapping about in the breeze and causing possible damage.

Perhaps less damage caused if they're left to slowly weathervane around? Just a thought.
