Default OOL Spotting

Hi all, I'm heading out to OOL later in the year and I'd like to get some spotting done while I'm up there. I've heard about the Red Arrow trail, and how it offers amazing high angle shots of the arrivals and departures.

I found this spot which could be one but I don't know if it's high enough or would yield the results like these -

Here's the location I think - https://www.google.com.au/maps/place...!3m1!1s0x0:0x0

Thanks in advance,

Mitch

Mitch,

OOL is Gold Coast, and your Google point is next to Cairns airport.

Mitch, assuming you're talking about Cairns, the Red Arrow walk is located behind the location in your post. The Red Arrow is actually just the path to the spot which is actually on the Blue Arrow trail.

To enter the Red Arrow Walk, follow the carpark located on Collins Avenue (google: -16.899549,145.748936) up to the public toilets where you will see information about the rainforest behind which a trail begins. Follow it for about 5 minutes and take a right turn at the stairs where you will see dozens of water bottles. Take the first left after that and follow it for about 20 minutes up the hill. The Blue Arrow walk continues on from the end of the Red Arrow. Keep following the path until you find the picnic table with the open grass area and you will have the same view as in the photos you posted. Remember to take plenty of water as you will need it! Even in winter. Enjoy

Thanks for the help! I thought the spot was a little low compared to the shots. Thanks for the help guys.

Cheers,

Mitch
