Default Wings over Illawarra 2013

Keep 5th May free for the Wings over Illawarra airshow.
Information can be found at www.woi.org.au

Matt Hall will be attending, and the RAAF will be bringing a "fast jet", but cannot confirm which one just yet.

Tomorrow will be my first airshow since Temora about 7 or 8 years ago, and a first for my 2 young kids. I hope they like it!

Yeah, but I can't remember the last time a Hudson dropped in!

If you could not make it down to WOI 2013, here is what you missed out on.

Crowd numbers looked good, plenty of static displays, and a good flying program. The RAAF painted the F111 before delivery to HARS, who polished it a few days before the event - the aircraft looked immaculate. The Connie was out for maintenance but still on display, while the Catalina, Caribou, DC-3, a Provost and some Temora aircraft were all flying. There were even a few interesting examples in the GA fly in flight line. The Roulettes performed, as did one of the Hawks, and the RAAF Hot Air Balloon.

Pretty good value for the $25 entry.

The Stearman, one of my favourites

Falco F8L

New Zealand registered Karman K-1200

Returning from their display

Contrast of years, the DC-3 and Matt Hall's MXS-R rated to +/-14G

Metor F8

Matt Hall did a very impressive aerobatic display, and talked about the performance with the commentary team.

P-51 Mustang, another of my favourites

The Jet Provost flying display was great, a dirty pass and plenty of noise.
