Yep, one minute it falls off on the runway, the next if fell off taxiing towards the runway.
![]() Firstly, are the Virgin Engineers not part of the ALAEA? Secondly, until the investigation is complete, how does the ALAEA secretary know or speculate that a pre-departure inspection would have picked up the problem anyway? And finally, if the DJ engineers are part of the ALAEA and the component failure was previously undetectable, then its nice of the secretary to be publicly admonishing the members who pay his wages without all of the facts. ![]()

Haha, 9 News here in Melbourne just came on with breaking news showing an E190 in a hangar that a wheel fell off a virgin 737 on saturday. |

My favourite line from the reporters on the radio was "and he quoted as saying" it wasn't a problem as the plane hadn't reached the runway yet.""
Isn't a wheel falling off a problem regardless of where, especially as one news report said that it was due to a corroded axle?
