Default End of an era: Last QF 747 fights MEL and LHR

For all the 747 fans, QANTAS will operate its last 747 services out of MEL and LHR ending over 40 years service. QF will not be doing anything special or even mentioning this major milestone.

The flights are:

QF29 24MAR MEL-HKG (flight will terminate in HKG)
QF 2 24MAR LHR-BKK-SYD - this is also the last time QF2 operates with a 747 and via BKK - it becomes A380 via SIN after this date
QF30 24MAR LHR-HKG - flight terminates with 747 in HKG - the HKG-MEL leg operated by 333.

And Singapore Airlines operates its last scheduled 747 service 25MAR on the SQ238 MEL-SIN marking close to 40 years service since 1973.

SQ have done a fantastic website www.siajourneys.com to celebrate the 747 services...QF on the other hand nothing...but that is expected and not surprising.
