I have a photo at home of an Air Hong Kong 707 parked in one of the QF Hangars. (down the eastern side of the QF Jet Base where the Dash-8's are now serviced). The pic was taken when my father & I did a tour of the QF Jet Base.


I am trying to work what year this photo was taken? It would have been around 1989-91.

Anyone know what Air Hong Kong's schedule was into SYD around that time?
Could it have just been a one off? or were they regular in SYD? Can only find one other pic on A.net in 1989 of AHK in SYD.

Any help would be appreciated.

We had a few visits of their B707's around that time.

I logged VR-HKK at SYD in Oct 1988 (and HKL in Singapore in Mar 1990); pretty sure the latter also visited in that period.

Can't confirm that they had an actual schedule though!

Karl i logged VR-HKK on the 11-06-88 1st time sighted by me.
VR-HKL on the 20-09-89 1st time sighted by me.
i do believe they had weekly flights on mondays., but i stand corrected.

Also in the photo seems to be the Westfield 727 (N727WF) with the Aussie flag on the tail.
Anyone know when it was Delivered to Westfield? Maybe it could help in determining the date.

Karl a couple of web sites say N727WF B727-023 C/N 20045 was registered to Westfield aviaition on 10-1988. I saw it for the first time on 19-02-89 at Sydney.
