Because passengers travel when they want to travel!
There is no point moving all of the evening SYD - MEL flights to mid afternoon... Foreign curfew and arrival time issues also dictate a lot of the international departures needing to be later in the afternoon. |

You mean airports in other countires have restrictive curfews? Who'd have thunk it?
![]() That said, I have little problem with lifting the 80 per hour cap (or making it more flexible), and can also see some value in exemptions following severe weather events, particularly using 16L/R for takeoffs. |
