Default QF31 delay

Just logged VH-OQA operating QF31 which normally leaves about 5pm; any reason for this delay?

Default Who said A180?

This afternoon's QF11 SYD-LAX has had an air turnback and after initially heading to Sydney, it is now diverting to MEL. Not sure of the rego, but it's an A380, surprise surprise!

What time did this flight leave Sydney and how far did it get?

Syd airport website now shows Friday's flight as an 11:40am departure from Melbourne(or Sydney?) on Saturday morning

Apparently it pushed back close to the scheduled time of 3.10pm, then returned to blocks and departed again about 90mins after schedule.

3 hours into the flight they turned back and diverted to Melbourne. Anyone have any info as to why Melbourne not Sydney? My second hand info was that it was due to a wet runway in Sydney combined with some sort of aircraft system issue.

Maybe issues with high weight landing and wet runway combination?

Or maybe a diversion to Sydney would mean a definite overnight due to curfew, but Melbourne gave the option to depart at any time?

QF10, LHR-MEL arrived in Melbourne this morning approx 4 hours late and is now also scheduled to arrive in Sydney just after 2pm.
With passengers I believe, so assume its all related to the big delays caused by the A380s on 6/11/09.
