Default Ice Pilots TV Show

For those that have foxtel, I have been watching a show called Ice Pilots on Nat Geo for a few weeks.

It's a great show and is all about the ops of Buffalo airways in Canada.

Awesome shots of DC3's and DC4's etc ..

Anyways more info here:

Check it out!

I've seen the whole of the first series, and I'll tell you what, take away the ice and snow, and it reminds me of just about every GA operator in this country, .

Old aircraft that constantly break down, grumpy bosses, employees stepping over one another to get to the top..... hmmmmm, almost sounds too familiar, .

Buffalo's DC-3 pax flight "The Sched" had an engine fire after departure from Yellowknife followed by a belly landing back on the 19th. I think filming for the 5th season has already wound up so we probably won't get to see the ensuing dramas, no doubt Transport Canada will come down pretty hard on old Buffalo Joe.

I've watched these shows, and its amazing to see what these guys have to go through just to keep these planes in the air in these extreme conditions. It follows on from shows like Ice Road Truckers, where everything in Alaska in winter is so extreme.
