I wonder if the 5 x 717s mentioned in earlier press releases included those for the east coast. I though (that when announced) they were for the west coast to add to the FIFO and Network F100 services.
A good a/c like a DC-9 never dies.

The 5 717's will be used on the east coast as they will have J class fitted.
They are ex Mexicana which are already in a config of 20J/84Y. J class generally not required for WA FIFO flights. Cobham are also opening a SYD and CBR base so expect the 'new' birds to be based there.

TJJ flew out of SYD this morning as QF6027. Spotted it parked at gate 25 at the international terminal when I came back from MEL last night (Monday).

Saw TJR yesterday, seems that the paint job is really starting to rub off
