I like the new uniforms. Look very nice and yes, reminds me of the good ol' days of travel. The Business class cabin is (I am pretty sure) just Emirates Business class just re upholstered. Still, it will give Qantas's Domesitc Business product a run for their money (hence Qantas deploying the 744 to compete I reckon).
Any news on the new economy product or will that remain the same? It said in the report that new products were going around... Any news on the new livery and logo as yet? Alex. |

Will Qantas have the advantage as they will soon have 'no middle seat (again)'? Or is Virgin planning 2-2-2 as well? The images provided show only the outboard seats - it seems they are 'hiding' something. |

Gareth, I don't believe QF have ever had a Dreamtime seat on its A330s. It has only had the Millenium domestic J class seats and the sleepers.
DJ's challenge is to be able to pitch its product so it attracts corporates across the plane. VX has done this with a great product throughout the cabin and I'm sure Borghetti is modelling the new DJ very much on VX though I'm sure it is easier to fit J class seats in an A320's width compared to a 737. It seems that the new product will be 3 class (a-la-VX). The mid product (Y+) is available in exit rows and the first row of Y. It has extra room and free IFE (I think??). It is interesting the VA is getting product enhancements in 2012. VA is a great product so it will be interesting to see what the enhancements will be.

Secondly, I was referring to the international-configured 763s, which have the Dreamtime seat. This is the same seat model as Emirates' J seats on their 332 and 343s, which are (apparently) being used initially by Emirates. |

A bit of an anti climax but at least the ATRs have been confirmed.
I didn't mind the old flight and cabin crew uniforms as they had a fresh and "cool" look about them. But I guess they had to go as VB is moving away from being a LCC to more of a full service carrier so the new uniforms have to reflect that change and show more of a corporate image to the great and the good who will be using Business Class. And I can't help thinking that there is a distinct Virgin Atlantic look about them. Roll on the next few months when all will be revealed. |
