Interesting to me, but probably pointless, is the fact that we have both the largest 340 fleet in the world with Rex and the largest Fokker 50 fleet (and second largest Fokker operator) with SkyWest.
Fleet replacement plans will be interesting, given ATR and Bombardier are the only turboprop manufacturers left in this market..... |

Fleet replacement will indeed be interesting, there being nothing in that 35-seat 'sweet spot' anymore.
Rex Chief Pilot is on record as saying (at a talk to the Royal Aeronautical Society, Sydney branch in 2008 I think) that these 'new' B+ aircraft are expected to still be useable in 15-20 years, so at this stage there's no great urgency to find a replacement. |
