I can confirm that OJC is flying there as QF6020.
Departed YSSY around 2130.

According to the 16R information posted by Grahame, QF12D (VH-OQB) sent its ACARS message at 06:33 on 29/12/08 whereas QF8012 (VH-OJC) sent its ACARS message at 08:31.

This means that the ferry flight (A380) arrived in Sydney from Nadi a few hours before the replacement (744) flight.

OQB then popped up on ACARS operating QF93 from Melbourne to Los Angeles so the tech problem was quickly solved.
