As an Ex Ansett Catererer. I was always happy to feed the engineers, traffic , and anyone else that could use the food. Sadly those days are long gone, but made some good friends and favours always went both ways, cant say much more than that! good to see unused food not go to waste!! The Perth to ADL buffets were the best!! trust me, I know!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely have to agree with this comment, I picked up on this idea whilst doing a SINBKK sector late last year with TG with a muslim friend of mine.

She had ordered the MOML due to religous reasons and the meal looked and tasted damn fine!

Ever since, I've ordered the MOML and despite the strange looks from crews - I've been satisified every time.
It has it's downsides too. I am one of these (odd?) people who hate seafood. A few years back I flew Thai quite regularly and they are one of the few, if any airlines that have a no seafood meal option. Anyway what happened to me is on flights out of Aus I would get served a diabetic meal, which were rather bland and tastless. Out of Bangkok they served non diabetic meals.

With Thai when you had a special meal I found they often wouldn't let you select a standard meal, even flying in J. But yes I would get served first. In the end I gave up and decided to just accept a standard meal and hand back any seafood meals to the crew.

Was on a QF flight ex CBR to MEL last evening.

Cabin crew were pathetic with their attitude and the QF refreshment was also very poor.

Having just experienced a SYD-CBR flight a few days ago, where the cabin crew had to be seated twice due to turbulence,

They then worked their butts off to do the best they could do in 30 mins.

Chalk & cheese.

Kind regards,

Geoff

Not on QF if the upg is relatively close to departure.

I flew QF MEL-SYD on Monday and the "Lunch" was a joke.

I think it started life as a toasted ham and cheese sandwich. It was then wrapped in grease-proof paper, allowed to wallow in its own juices, squashed, then eventually re-heated to wallow in its own grease again. It was greasy to even touch the outside of wrapper and even a 7-Eleven would be embarassed to sell it. And that was it.

Why pretend that you're a "full service airline" and are offering "lunch" when you're not doing anything of the sort? The "snack box" would have been superior to that.

I flew QF a few weeks ago direct from HBA-SYD. Likewise, "Lunch" (as it said on Qantas's website) was laughable. "Lunch" was crackers and some dip. For a two hour flight and on a 'full service' airline, this is very poor.

I've also recently flown QF from MEL-HBA. "Dinner" as was quoted by the flight attendent was a stale sandwich. To me, this certainly isn't "dinner".

SYD-CNS lunch is some beef thing which is really, really good. If you think the Qantas food is **** try JAL out of Narita, that is bad, really bad, I went nine hours without eating anything except two 'petite' (as they are called in Japan) kit kat bars.
