They actually had pretty good english for a Russian crew. Then again, I do work with a Russian, so listening to that accent is something I'm quite used to!

Likewise.

Question for everyone. Matt and I were having an argument about its size. What is it better compared to? An A320 or 772 in size comparrison? McDonald kept going nuts saying it is tiny and the same size as an A320 Air Calin that was rolling through.

Great photos Matt. Quite a surprise performance, thought the IL96 would rotate long and slow, it actually got up before the beach!!

That's actually a very good comparison. It's a badly kept secret that they have got a lot of "inspiration" from the A300/A310 in this design. It's looks almost like a 4-engined A310.
But it's still got a very unmistakably Russian appearance.

The IL-96 is actually closest in size to an A332/A333 or an A343 (in terms of length, at just under 60m). The stretched version (IL-96M - 64.7m) is much closer to a 772. That is if the info on Aerosite is accurate...

It looks to have a large Cargo capacity unless it's an illusion due to the shape and position of the nose/cockpit area.
