Nancy returns
Thanks for sharing your shots, Grahame and Andrew. The fog was definitely thick. Is fog common now?

I also was surprised at how "dirty" she looks.

Sydney gets maybe a dozen fog events a year. It's only been around the last couple of days because of all the rain we've recently had and the clear skies at night. The forecast is for a 10% chance of fog tomorrow if the skies clear overnight.

Coming into winter, yes, will be common.

I agree with Chris. Many would not know about this particular aircraft, especially in regard to its significance within the QF fleet for the many reasons already outlined and as we all know.
The other huge point of all this is the massive effort and cost of getting this aircraft back in the skies, which I believe, many people would have no idea about, and further to that, just where this task fits in as one of those incredible feats of the modern aviation era. It was obviously a very emotional time for a lot of people at Qantas, particularly the original crew and that was clear with Sunday's arrival. Whether you are an A380 lover or not,it was great to see this aircraft come home.It is a fantastic thing for our National Carrier and if the worst thing they did was fly her home a bit dirty,I for one can let that one slip. Well done to all concerned, from the repairs to the ferry flight home. Welcome home OQA Jim |

The aircraft went for a test flight today, from Sydney over Melbourne out to Bass Straight roughly a 200ks south of Portland, Victoria; before returning to Sydney mid afternoon. |

Prehaps they should have put detergent in the water cannons - that would have given her a fast wash.
