I'll be interested to see what they do with the livery of the red jets if they aren't going to repaint them this year

Default Re-paint

No, there will be 20 Aircraft in the new livery by the end of the calendar year. Interiors will be done by late October (737's). All from the horses mouth (John Borghetti).

Which of the 737-700s are being withdrawn?

Only 2 700's are owned, so over the next 2 years as the new 800's arrive the 700's and the older 800's will be replaced. The owned 700's were the last 2 to arrive so they may stay a liitle longer, but the company seems to be moving to all 737-800, E190 and A330 in the medium term. Long term no one knows, perhaps we may see 787's replacing the 330 and a newer regional jet replacing the E190.

so apart from the two owned 737-700s, it is doubtful the others will see the new livery?.

Does that include the AFL birds Radi?

I read somewhere that the 2 x A330's (Ex Emirates) will be replaced with 2 brand new A330's once they arrive.

I thought they were sticking with 4 x A330's ?

Total of 4 A330's is the current plan. The extra 2 new build are to supplement and not replace. My guess is once they are on line they will be deployed on the golden triangle as well. There is crew talk that the 330 numbers could go as high as 12-15 aircraft, but crew do like to dream

If they got that many, they'd have to hope the T2 terminal extension is completed in good time with the extra A330 bays. But with the current weather patterns, getting the Bravo-4 realignment/Dom-2 extension completed is hard enough, let alone building terminal gates!

The other, but highly unlikely, option would be for Jetstar to give up Bay 49 occasionally....

How many A330 gates are there in MEL and BNE?
