Here's some of my photos at BNE today.

Also, it looks like N707JT departed BNE a few minutes ago, heading back to Sydney??

Any chance of a departure in the next two days? I have RDOs on Mon and Tuesday

someone smart may be able to explain to me why the 707 has little intakes above engine 2, 3 and 4 but not engine 1?

also what are they for?

very observant Radi, only just noticed when checking the great photos.

Seen hundreds of 707's in my time and never took much notice of the engines, just rego's (up to 30-40 a day at Heathrow in the 60's)

I forget the term for them but they're for pressurisation and only 3 were required.

Some airlines 707's only had them on engines 2 and 3, eg American Airlines

Some more shots to share which I and a couple of my friends took while I was hosting on the A380... Great day, huge interest in the big bird with some waiting a couple of hours in the queue, and overall a high turnout considering the dismal weather at the start and end of the day...

Radi & Jack, I came across this in a search about the engine mounts.

Quote:
The 707's used engine-driven turbocompressors to supply high-pressure air for pressurization. The engines could not supply sufficient bleed air for this purpose without a serious loss of thrust. On many commercial 707s the outer port (#1) engine mount is distinctly different from the other three, as this is the only engine not fitted with a turbocompressor. With engines 2 through 4 being fitted with TCs, they provide the triple redundancy required of the aircraft's cabin pressurisation and air-conditioning system.

Hi all

Sorry to be a pest, though would anyone have any idea when JT's 707 may be leaving Sydney? Pretty much have a spare day today and tomorrow incase it is either of them.

Thanks!
