Not that this has to do with the livery but it looks like virgin changed the format of its website.

Hi...
VH-VOQ has been in maintenance since 1/12/11. I highly suspect it will return to service in about 10 days time in the new Virgin Australia livery. Anyone confirm? Also VH-VOX went to maintenance on 11/12/11. My bet is this one going into the paint shop as soon as VH-VOQ is rolled out... ? Both of these are older aircraft with old paint, not to mention wearing daggy Airline of Virgin Blue logo. Thanks, Steve S |

And some further info:
You may have noticed that in 2011, as our new planes have joined the fleet, they have been missing an IFE system, ie the TVs in the back of the seats. We have today announced that we will be collaborating with industry leader, Lufthansa Systems, to develop a state of-the-art inflight entertainment system using Wi-Fi technology delivered to personal, hand-held devices on our aircraft. Group Executive Product and Guest Services, Martin Daley, said the two companies had signed a letter of intent to produce and install the initial systems, known as BoardConnect, from mid-2012. “This system, considered to be at the leading edge of inflight entertainment technology, provides guests with a wide range of products including video and audio streaming delivered on demand to personal entertainment devices or Wi-Fi enabled laptops. Our new entertainment system will provide guests with more options than ever before to tailor their inflight entertainment experience to their personal tastes along with the freedom to choose how and when they access inflight entertainment. “This latest product release, combined with our new Business Class and Economy Class cabin environment, further enhances the inflight experience,” he said. Mr. Daley said the growing number of travellers carrying their own devices meant this new inflight entertainment system would allow Virgin Australia to remain at the forefront of technology. Features will include: * Ability to control and view content from personal entertainment devices (PEDs) and WiFi enabled laptops; * Extensive range of movies, television and audio content; * On demand controls to start, stop, rewind, fast forward and pause content; * Selection of games for adults and children including arcade style games in future releases; and * Service and Product information including destination / airport guides, travel offers and Velocity information in future releases. |

VH-VOX is back in service. It operated as DJ4153 MEL-DPS this morning. I dare it wouldn't be in the new livery, as it is back before VH-VOQ, which you stated is in for a repaint.

Hi...
No VOX wouldn't have new paint, it was only gone for 5 days like the others when they had the new interior done. When VUF and VUG got repainted/interiors they were gone for exactly 20 days. VOQ has been gone since 1st December so I would imagine it return around 21 December, we'll find out |

Hi Peter
VUF has kept her name 'Hobart Honey' and has been on the aircraft since the repaint. I assume VUG and the rest of the upcoming repaints will keep their old names or eventually be allocated new 'Beach' names. |

The aircraft that have recieved repaints have had the old names incorporated into the new livery so they may not re name them.
VUG still has her "Jasmine Tasman" name... Last edited by Shayne G; 19th December 2011 at 01:07 PM. |
