Default Repairs to A380 in Singapore

There's an excellent story about QF32 in the Financial Review (Jan 29-30,2011) by Andrew Cleary. He comments:

"Analysts say that Qantas's damage bill could exceed $200 million, including the damage to the crippled A380 which is still sitting in a Sinjgapore hanger undergoing repairs. Those costs will be covered by insurance."

I'm curious if the aircraft IS actually being repaired! There has been comment that Qantas don't want the plane even if repaired because of the additional stresses the airframe suffered in the heavier than usual landing.

The story in the Financial Review actually canvasses the possibility that we may never know the full story of QF32 and discusses the keeness or otherwise of RR or QF to actually end up arguing in court.

I'm sorry, I don't know how to make the article appear on the board. If someone can do so, I am sure other board members will find the story well reasoned and interesting.

Default Quiet swap still plausible

The Captain Flaps story is still quite plausible to me:

and probably the best outcome for everyone
