So in summary, Brisbane to Sydney flight, minor tail strike. I presume it was a B767?

They said the plane will return to service shortly. Can anyone shed some light on the inspection process required before the aircraft is given the OK to go again? If it was a B767 the tail strike protector would have taken the hit, but what checks are required around the tail assembly to ensure there was no other damage?
The runway should have a bit of a visible scrape down it, and maybe some flaked paint and aluminium scrapings, if the reports of it being a 'minor' strike are correct.

According to flightaware it was ZXF.

Clearly very minor, because also according to flightaware it returned to Sydney as QF6124 arriving about 2233 hours last night then operated the 419 service to MEL this morning.

Cheers

M
