Default Possible News of latest Qantas Cuts

News is brewing of QF restructuring with 2800 staff cuts.

Seems Sky News is putting together the story. Guessing more to come.

This little fellow is slaying Qantas and earning millions to do so. Where are the shareholders and hat of the Board. They have questions to answer as well

Good point Peter...AJ is just the puppett in all of this - he is too stupid. Clifford and Dixon are calling the shots. The only way for QF to move ahead is to get rid of this board - they've done nothing for QF.

Latest article from The Herald Sun:
Source Here

Summary:

QANTAS has revealed a total of 2,800 jobs will be lost as part of its five year transformation plan

As part of the changes the group is consolidating its heavy maintenance bases from three down to two and is selling two of its seven catering centres.

Working through many smaller measures that will increase efficiency and productivity, such as using iPads to give pilots instant access to forms, manuals, flight plans and charts and save on the cost and weight of manuals inflight.

Guessing more details to come.

agree Ben Sandilands is a joke

has no idea what he is talking about

Sandilands said HongKong Airlines (sic) direct HKG-LGW flight was going to show how stupid QF was pulling out of the HKG-LHR route, now HongKong Airlines is going down the gurgler and have pulled the LON route for lack of customers, great call Ben

quick to post, but wrong

as QF tweeted at 2:28 PM - 8 Aug 12

We have not announced additional job cuts. The 2800 quoted are those which have already been announced

Just an observation, but every time I read an article of Ben Sandilands, it is always negative about Qantas. Qantas always seems to get a hit with Ben.

So it is an announcement that has been made months ago..........why are all the news agencies reporting it as new news?

If you read his speech today - it is very clear he was referring to existing initiatives...

Quote:
We estimate the equivalent of 2,800 full time roles are going as a result of the transformation initiatives undertaken so far.

There is a history with Ben and Qantas that goes way back. I believe Qantas revoked some privileges | benefits he had and as a result - he has been on a Qantas warpath ever since.

So I was told...
