Just noticed that a new 738 should be joining the VA (probably VAI) fleet shortly: VH-YIY has appeared on production lists. I'm guessing about a month from now.

Hi,

VH-VOO ex ZK-PBA has been in Brisbane for six days.

It is having reg'n changed back from ZK to VH.

I read that the ten ZK 738's coming back to VH, will have the business class section installed, to match the rest of the 738 fleet. So I also presume it is having that done in Brisbane at the moment.

Regards,

Steve

So... NZ based 738s get the refit in BNE, and all of the Aus based 738s were done in CHC!

ZK-PBM appears to be the next one to be re-registered after not flying for nearly a day.

That route is a nice change for VOO (ZK-PBA)...

I guess that means it will appear on Australian domestic routes too.

looks like a complicated process, some NZ aircraft are going to VAI, some to VAA and some VH-YI... aircraft are going from VAA to VAI. Once the dust settles I expect VAI will be left with a consistent fleet of modern Boeing Sky Interior/Short Field Performance/ACARS equipped VH-YIx aircraft.

Eventually.

next move: PBM becomes VUO (domestic) and YIA goes international.
