They did not say paint the fleet by mid-January. They said that the entire fleet would have buisness class.

Now that hybrid Virgin Australia/V Australia livery looks good! Much better than the plain white of the Virgin Australia livery (And with the better name and font than V Australia).

Damn! Where do we give Virgin Australia the feedback that this needs to be their livery? This takes the best of both and looks amazing. So much better than the boring official Virgin Australia livery!

All they said would be 20 aircraft in their fleet in the new colours by the end of 2011-no more.

VH-VUZ is now in full Virgin Australia colours, noted operating BNE-DPS yesterday. Also VH-YVC arrived in BNE on delivery as VBH9080 from NAN.

Cheers

Michael

This should explain things. From August:
Quote:
“The five B777s will do a temporary decal so you’ll see ‘Virgin Australia’” on the silver base, Mr Donohue said. The Southern Cross on the tail will be removed as the empennage on the hybrid livery “will be the same as the domestic livery”.

“Over the next couple of years we’ll do a full re-painting of each of the aeroplanes,” Mr Donohue said. “From next year you’ll see at least one of the aeroplanes get fully re-painted.” Separately, the B777 fleet will start heavy checks next year with Air New Zealand Engineering Services.

Expect the first re-paint to occur with a heavy check.

Curious that the Southern Cross is still on the tail. Plan was to remove the stars for the hybrid livery.

Everything from VUY and the three newest E190s.... don't forget the ATRs. That's it, although they may be a full repaint soon.

Here a picture of one off the Virgin Australia 777-300ER with the decals. Me thinks it a bit dodgy.....

Rego VH-VPF a bit of a rush job.
