Default QF21 17/12

Hey guys.

Anyone know why the QF21 went into CNS last night on the way to NRT?

Todd.

Cool

Todd

Haven't found out the exact reason but with the stop being fairly brief, possibly medical.
QF21 OJI presently on descent into NRT with about 10 min to go according to Flightaware so about 2.5 hours behind I guess.

Hope your trip in was less eventful.

Jim

Looks like it's not a medical diversion.

Bit of a misleading title wouldn't you say??

Qantas flight from Perth to Japan diverted to Cairns
The man was from Perth, not the flight!! BUT, hey, never let the facts get in the way of a good story headline!!!

I am sure the passengers would have been annoyed by the delay but happy they could divert to offload the passenger. It would have been worse if they were past Australia - it would be interesting if they would turn back to CNS or divert to another port (like HKG).

Would Guam be a diverting airport? The flight practically flew right over Guam.

Hopefully the bloke was taken to the Cairns watchhouse where he was acquainted with some of the local clientele. I am sure they would have sobered him up quickly!

It is an interesting one - the delay was about 2 and a half hours, so you wonder how much longer it would have been in terms of impacting crew hours. If this passenger or any passenger was as disruptive as is being reported, they would want to offload him as soon as they good, within the normal logisitcal limitations.

Hope he has to pay the airline the bill for all the disruption he caused to the airline and other passengers.
