There have always been smiles on board at Virgin Blue, something you hardly ever see at Qantas. Did my first Qantas flight in 12 months and found the ground staff friendly, but once on board it all changed. Rude cabin crew no smiles. If a free drink, an apple and some nuts is full service than Virgin Blue doesn't have to do much to beat them.

Well just to add my experience with Qantas domestic has been brilliant. Last time I flew I ended up being given seat 1A on their Q400, and on the long taxi to the runway the flight attendant sitting up front was very eager to have a chat about the new A380's.

A Q400 flight is not a Qantas donestic flight, it's a regional flight operated by Sunstate or Eastern cabin crew and not Qantas mainline. Regional cabin crew have always been friendly it's the nature of the flying they do and they get to know the regular passengers. So you didn't have a good experience on a Qantas domestic flight.

Big rumours over on a.net about "Virgin Australia"

I can't work out if it's real or not. Thoughts anyone?

Did they also change contracts to Pepsi, or is it just my lack of attention to detail and they already serve it?
