Help with identification of airline badge

A facebook contact is trying to find out which Australian airline had this badge, my first thought was Ansett but I'm sure someone will recognise it.

Only a guess but what about Australian.

The A looks very similar to the font used on the aircraft livery.

Just checked my photos of Ansett and Australian a/c so it's more like Ansett as the Australian Airlines titles had the 'A' joined whereas the Ansett titles don't.

But will wait for definite id but thanks Mark.

My guess would be Associated Airlines based at Essendon which is now known as Executive Airlines.

Its not Ansett ,have a look at the Flarose website they have photos of all the wings.
