Default Aircraft ID and rego if possible please

A colleague of mine has asked for an aircraft ID from 20/10/10. Apparently the aircraft 4 engined) was very high and passed overhead Sydney at around 1213.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Have checked my SBS log for yesterday Nigel and nothing stands out at that time.

The only 2 possible candidates are QF17 to EZE which may have departed on 34L and then turned left heading SE and Reach 51 USAF C-17 which left Richmond just before 12.

That would be QF93 VH-OQC. It passed over the SY VOR around midday. I saw it on the radar so went outside to have a look. First time I've seen a 380 mid flight

Gee it got a wriggle on.

It left YMML according to QF at 1122 (That's gate time isnt it?)

No delays for take off.

Kind regards,

Geoff

Geoff, I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's the actual take-off time from MEL, if your looking at the Melb airport website.

Peter, I believe that you are right.

This info came from QF, I thought they used gate time.

Happy to be advised and learn if I am wrong.

Cheers,

Geoff

Definately was QF93 ... saw it on Plane Finder and watched it out of the window at work .. made a large sweeping right hand turn over YSSY just as it left the mainland - looked nice from the ground ...

That'd have to be it, thanks. He did say it left a huge contrail in its wake.
