Interesting QF SYD-PER movements today
Hi all
Noticed OJD operated its usual 581 today, then OJC operated the 577 service to PER. However,it seems as though OJD then operated the QF566 return and I'm gathering, according to ACARS that OJC positioned back to SYD as QF6111. Did QF582 not operate today? Another site is saying that OJC operated the entire 577/566 rotation, but this appears to not to be correct. Anyone know what's going on? Cheers Jim |

I suspect the aircraft that was due to operate QF577 went tech in SYD and they got OJC as a sub as it left SYD 2 hours late. Since it was getting into PER at 1630, it was a close call to turn it around as the QF566 and still make the SYD curfew. Hence, they canned QF582, and used OJD as the QF566, so it could still depart at 1630. At the same time, since OJC was ferrying back, it could quickly turn in PER and get back before the curfew in SYD.
Just my conjecture... :P |

Yes and QF577 (OJC) did depart SYD about two hours late.
Anyone know what the original aircraft for this flight was and what happened? Jim |
