Default A39-007 first VIP run

I noted the PM on A39-007 into the USA, is this the first use of the MRTT for such a purpose? Interesting they had to go via HNL.

Yes for an overseas trip. Direct would have been 18 hours and with the expected payload, unlikely to be able to depart with such a load from Canberra direct due to performance issues.

The BBJ followed behind to HNL.

As you likely know 007 has the VIP config. Not much fun down back though for the journos.
