Default Qf107

Simple question

The plane that operates QF107 LAX-JFK

Is this the plane that operates QF93 MEL-LAX ?

Or one of the SYD flights ?

I think i understand what your asking Andrew. I flew on QF107 SYD-LAX although didnt continue on to JFK but i flew on VH-OEJ and yes it did continue onto JFK that morning so there is no aircraft change.

Speaking of LAX flights, QF12 has hit a major delay tomorrow morning (15th July) due in at 5 past 6am and due to arrive at 4:45pm!

Tim

QF11 and QF5 both had late departures tonight. They both got airborne just after 2300.

An unfortunate effect of the delays here.

Hi Andrew,

Having a look at http://www.16right.com/ACARS.php?Regno=VH-OED you will see that the route cycle appears to include:

QF0107 / QF0108 Sydney - Los Angeles-New York - Los Angeles - Sydney
QF0011 / QF0012 Sydney - Los Angeles - Sydney
QF0073 / QF0074 Melbourne - Sydney - San Francisco - Sydney - Melbourne

A great find Ed!

However, the article is a big bunch of colorful rubbish. Firstly, the competitors who arrive late (and it's not their fault) are normally allowed to play at the end of the first round which gives them extra few days (a common rule at the competitions- I was in such a situation myself ages ago). Secondly there are no competitors from some of the countries mentioned, and finally... if you decide to fly in 1 before the competiton begins, you're not being serious! But then, I know Mr. Thomson himself, so no real surprises with the attitude. The only thing they will really miss out on is choosing the instrument, in which case they will have to use their skills (or show lack of) and adjust to the new Steinway right on the stage. Adds to the reality of piano world...

So Krzysztof, does that mean there's a concert being planned for the next spotting weekend? Or perhaps some soothing dinner music?

Haha Nige, now that you said that....

And we could have a new spotting weekend prize: 'who stays awake the longest during a classical concert'

But hey, if there's anyone willing to put their life at risk we could actually do that. My agent isn't based in Australia but hey, could try and ask to arrange something here!

As for soothing, I'd rather call Hugh Hefner to organize something
