Default China Eastern Business or SIA 380 Economy

The usual delay issues at work means that my Shanghai flight for Saturday has only just been booked.

Due to the lateness, the only option for business class is China Eastern or I can go economy on the SIA 380. To anyone else in my office that don't have an interest in aircraft, it's a no brainer....

Obviously, I enjoy business class, but I've not been on an A380 yet. Tickets need to be issued by 10am tomorrow.

Can't decide and need advice?

What would you do?

Darren

A) How desperate are you to ride on the 380?

B) I'd be taking MU J over SQ Y purely based on the J class factor.

C) However if FFP's are also a consideration and you do hold a Star Alliance FFP than the equation turns in the other direction...

That being said if, "A" & "C" are of no importance "B" would the answer I'd be locking in thanks Eddy...

Ok, I buckled and took the 380, at least I can check that off the list.

Thanks for your replies

I checked in online today exactly 48hrs ahead of time and there were very few seats to choose from. It looks like it's going to be a full flight.

I couldn't get the upper deck, but hopefully they'll allow a walkthrough??

I ended up in 47A (over the wing I think) on SQ220 and 61K on SQ836 to PVG.

I'm also coming back next Friday night now on QF130 Business, so overall I'm happy, I get to go on an A380 and a 777 for the first time. Plus I know I have to go back in about eight weeks, so I'm wrapped.

I'll try to do a trip report

Darren

At Hard Rock Cafe in Singapore Airport Terminal 3 enjoying my second pint of Heineken. waiting for next flight in a couple of hours to China.

I am really glad I didn't go with Chia Eastern Business Class, because Singapore Airlines A380 in economy was billiant.

SPOTTING: Just photographed;

Lufthansa A340
Turkish A330
2 x SIA A380s in same shot
Silkair A320
Thai A330
Batvia Air A319

The KLM Skytem 777 livery

Either the beer is kicking in or I'm really having fun now..
