Default Aircraft off terminal remote parking - Adelaide 4 Aug 11

Noticed when I flew into Adelaide today that a MAS777, two QF 737s and another unknown 737 were parked remotely from the terminal at the old terminal spot. This is usual?

Yes that is.

The MAS is there because it arrives at 6-7am and leaves at either 9am or 3 pm depending which day. It's too expensive to sit at a gate all day, so they offload, clean, and park it there till the arvo flight.

The QF's must've been there for maintenance.

The unknown B737 would have been the TOLL Priotity B737-300F, that operates a Monday-Thursday ADL-SYD-MEL-ADL flight.

And as Cam said the MH B772 gets towed around there on Monday, Thursday and Saturday's.

The QF B738's were possibly not required for the day and sit there until needed. QF do that alot on the weekends. Usually they park the DHC8-400 there on the days it does not go to Melbourne. On those days there is no flight between 1000 until around 1500.

Thats right, of course its the toll 733. I couldn't remember for the life of me what it was!

The other week we had the diverted Emirates 772LR parked right next to the MH 772 and i think a VA E190. They sure dwarfed the brazilian!

Also yesterday I noticed that two tiger A320 aircrafts disappeared from that remote parking. (They were there initially when Tiger grounded..).

Did they move into some hangers? I don't think they moved to VIC as tiger grounded nationally..

Nirav,

They did infact get ferried to Melbourne.

VH-VNO left 15/7 as 'GO CAT 8001'
VH-VNF left 16/7 as 'GO CAT 8003'

Jarrad,

What you saw on Thursday was this......some excess B737 capacity

VH-TJZ was parked at Bay 80 and was still there late next day.

VH-VXE was on Bay 85 and on Friday was moved into the QF hangar for maintenance

VH-TJI was in the hangar on Thursday

With VH-TJZ, it is not in the new Scheme.....the rego now above the windows fools you into thinking this.
