Default Northwest Airlines

Hi

Can someone shed some light on a question I have?
I was just looking at airliners.net of pictures at Marana Air Park and curious as to why there is so many NWA aircraft?
Have they had some massive cuts post 9/11 or something?

Cheers Greg

They used to have one of the world's largest fleets of DC9s and DC10s.
A lot of these aircraft have been sent out to the desert rather quickly every time there is a significant drop in demand.

That's probably the reason for a lot of them being in storage at the time the photo was taken.
