Thanks Tony, with a little fancy Photoshop work on the tail of the aircraft, is does look very much like A97-448. Since 1996 they have removed the last two large registration digits from the tail and the fully rego from behind the roundel on the fuselage. They now just have the full registration on the tail in small lettering, more difficult to recognise on the light blue grey livery.

The downsizing of the tail numbers started once 37 SQN started going to the Middle East with the J models i believe. When we got the J's in 1999 they had a similar tail marking to the SQN's then E models.

Yes it is very hard to see, especially when we expect 2 aircraft in at the same time, not sure which one is going to what position. They also have the tail number under the pilots center window, again very small.
