Not Sydney-based crew who would have been operating on those flights. They are working on them for the first time and even though everyone is endorsed on them in theory, there is still a short familiarisation required onboard which may have run a little over time.

Melbourne crew are very familiar with the A321 now and "know the ropes".

And the U/S PDA you mentioned in the last post is not related to the new aircraft, it is a separate device carried onboard by the flight crew which is used for load calculations and referencing other flight info, etc.

Just to clarify.

Grahame,

Some info if you're interested (though you may well know already). The main air routes running West-East from Hawaii to Mainland USA are all coded from A-F. The northern most route has waypoints all beginning with A and so on to the southern most route with waypoints starting with F.

Sometimes on the Australia-LAX runs you may pick up either the Echo or Foxtrot route for the last part of flight as it seems the QF107 has done.
