I know Cathy use to fly the 747 to Sydney / Melbourne but did they ever Substitute the L- 1011

Also does anyone have a photo of one in Sydney

Many Thanks

Dahm. The title got me thinking there might be one in sydney.

I recall American Trans Air on a few charters. Nice paint scheme as well.

Just did a quick scan of my archive and came up with the following ...

L-1011-385-3 Royan Jordanian JY-AGD being pushed back in Sydney on 13/02/1988. In the background
is Qantas B747-238B VH-EBP, and the Kangaroo on the tail still had wings.

L-1011-385-3 Royan Jordanian JY-AGA at the gate at the old Subang airport in Kuala Lumpur on 14/12/1990

L-1011-500 K1 Royal Air Force on display at the Richmond Air Show on 14/10/1988

The only American Trans Air image I could find in my archive for Mascot was this one.

B707-323C N8416 American Trans Air parked at the Qantas Jet Base on 5/12/1983. Note the two Holden Torana's and yellow Gemini.

Yeah same, builds up excitment. I always have the camera on 2 min standby and the car engine running .

Nice photos Grahame, also went to the bicentennial airshow. Good times.
