Default VH-OJM QF64 and QF1

Good morning,

Does anyone know why QF64 operated by VH-OJM diverted to Melbourne yesterday afternoon before continuing to Sydney?

Was it a fuel stop or perhaps medical emergency?

I then saw VH-OJM flying QF1 departing very late last night.

Thanks.

Word at the airport was that it ran low on fuel due to strong winds [possibly related to the cyclone, all forming over the Indian Ocean and then spreading].

Usually the winds are supportive of the QF64 heading east!

Thanks for the answer.

That is unusual for an east bound flight.

Merry Christmas.
