My question would be how many seats did they eventually open for the Business class opportunity? I went in when I saw it and the Business seats were already gone...

I read in some online media today that there was only 160 seats in total being sold, however happy to be corrected.

You are correct. The Qantas website said 160 economy seats.

It seems that any profits from the flights are going to be donated to HARS & QFM

Just got an email from Qantas re the 747 farewell flight in Sydney this Monday. Pre-flight brunch in the Qantas Club and upon return the plane will go into a hanger where we will disembark and have the opportunity to see the aircraft up close and take photos. Wow! So pleased I was able to score a ticket. Hope the rather dire weather forecast doesn't stop the flight.

Enjoy, sounds like a lot of fun. As it turns out my last 747 flight was 8 or so hours in 5b on VH-OJU in Sept last year from HND, great flight and glad she is carrying on as the RR test bed.

STD from gate 10 shortly. VH-TCN looks to be positioning to film the takeoff.
