From Peanuts.aero

Quote:
Tiger Airways announced plans to increase its frequency to Adelaide. Rather than cancelling services like Jetstar, Tiger Airways is increasing its flights between Adelaide and Melbourne by 50%. Tiger is also increasing its frequency to Canberra, with the announcement of additional flights between Melbourne and Canberra.

Steve Burns, Chief Operating Officer of Tiger Airways, said “We have been very pleased with the levels of traffic between Melbourne and both Canberra and Adelaide since we started our service on 10-Jan-08. By being Australia’s only true low fare airline, Tiger Airways is ensuring that South Australia and the ACT’s tourism industries benefit from Tiger Airways Australia’s expansion.”

Tiger Airways’ announcement of additional frequencies comes as its competitors announced a 5% reduction in flights.

Tiger Airways’ fares for the new services are on sale today for travel from 11-Aug-08.
Interesting move, especially CBR

*CBR services now to be operated by A319 (as well as OOL, LST,HBA, MKY)
-Selected Flights on certain days

Lukas,

Did it say specifically which flights are going to be A319's, for CBR & OOL. And how many of these aircraft types will Tiger have in ops over next Summer.

Is there any further news on the axed airports especially Newcastle and Darwin, I thought Darwin would be safe with the Singapore connections but obvisously not. As for Newcastle weren't they looking at that as a 'full-on' NSW operation, ie people will be happy to drive from Sydney for the cheap fares. Should we be expecting an announcemnet anytime soon for Sydney flights or have they given up on NSW totally at the moment, whilst they continue to explore Richmond and/or Bankstown.

Mark

From 1st Feb the A319 will commence service.

A319 operates the last OOL service, and all Hobart, Canberra, Launceston flights. There might be more A319 services announced soon ??

Jetstar trialled 25 minute turn-arounds on the A320 although containerised.

It was not a success.

It could be achieved on the 717's which were bulk-loaded.

I think with Tigers policy of having all pax checked in 45mins prior could help them achieve a 25 min turn around, from what I understand Tiger only load the rear hold.
