QF93 MEL-LAX on the 19th is showing a 747-400 operating.
Any idea why the A380 is not operating that day? Is Nancy having a rest? |

Just a quick question. When the QF A380 does the Melbourne-Los Angeles run on Mondays and then returns to Melbourne on Wednesdays, does it immediately make the positional flight on Wednesday to Sydney ready for the Departure on Friday or does it make the trip to Sydney on the Thursday ready for the Friday flight. I think I can remember last week that it came to Sydney on the Wednesday.
Thanks in advance |

I wonder why they don't run MEL - LAX - SYD - LAX - MEL. It would have to save them a decent amount of fuel and crew hours and they could simply use a 744 on the return route to the originating city.

That's way too sensible Greg.

Greg,
I had been wondering that as well and as Nigel says it seems way too sensible. One thought I had was that it does give them 2 extra crew training cycles a week. I believe SQ did the same thing with the A345 between SIN-EWR flights they would do a short service to Djarkarta to get some crew cycles in. Cheers |
