Qantas B738 WiFi Test Flight

It looks like QF B738 VH-XZB was out doing a WiFi test flight this morning, departing Sydney as QF6160 at 0739.

They tracked fairly normally to just short of Melbourne, then turned right onto a reciprocal track until just back into New South Wales, where they did a diversion out towards Moruya, before returning
to the normal Melbourne-Sydney flight track back to Sydney. Flight time was 2hr 21min. Qantas cancelled its planned launch of free inflight wi-fi last week due to "stability issues" with the service.

Images: From Qantas Drive (Nigel Love Bridge) on short final to Runway 16R after the test flight.

Creatures Of The Night

The only way to catch these nocturnal creatures is to hunt them in their own territory, under the cover of darkness.

Qantas B733 VH-XMO arrived in from Melbourne as QFA7354 and parked on Bay 83 at 2132L. Eight containers were unloaded, and then six new ones loaded for the trip back to Melbourne as QFA7345.

Pel-Air Saab 340A VH-KDB arrived in from Brisbane as PFY7411 and parked at Bay 84 at 2217L. The aircraft was then scheduled to return to Brisbane as PFY7412.

All shots were hand held through the security fence.

Thanks for the 733 - I hadn't realised they still had them in the fleet. Strange seeing the eyebrows these days, as even many of the older ones have been plugged.

Technically they dont, Express Freighters Australia operate 4 733s and the 767 under their own AOC and wet lease to QF.
Their first 400 series is due to enter the fleet soon VH-XNH, which is their first 737 that did not originally serve in the mainline fleet.

TigerAir Flight TGG252 from Melbourne to Sydney on short final to Sydney Airport Runway 16R this afternoon. Alliance are operating some of their Melbourne-Gold Coast and Melbourne-Sydney services at present.

Grahame,

This could be part of the VA/AA deal where AA will be picking some of VA/TT services.

As they withdraw E-Jets/ATR's AA will be replacing them with F70/100's.

Also AA has several F70/100 stored in Bratislava pending delivery.
