Default UAE413 Routing

Hello all, My first post will be a question. I noticed last night the above flight and ETD455 tracked directly over my house in Canberra instead of their usual track out to the NW of Sydney with both aircraft eventually leaving the coast near Robe. Is there any particular reason for this? I did note a fair bit of weather inland and thought that may be the reason.

Regards
Mark

There was some pretty bad weather to the north-west of Sydney, it eventually hit SE QLD and the light show was incredible! The story was quite the same there, aircraft were taking long detours to avoid those cells.

Another reason aircraft enroute may take alternate paths is dominant winds - gives better fuel economics, you'd be more efficient with a tailwind at cruise rather than a headwind.
