Air NZ mulls 15% stake in Virgin Blue
http://www.smh.com.au/business/air-n...715-10cno.html
Certainly would be an interesting move.... they both have airlines with personality and a great long haul product. IMHO it is only a matter before they got closer... with the QF powerhouse, it is difficult for these 2 smaller airlines to be competing with each other. |

Should be worth a few cents to the VB share price today!

They haven't really denied much.....their alliance doesn't involve equity (which we already knew) - but doesnt mean they can't buy equity any way unrelated to the alliance.
I would suspect any aquisition of 15% would be done as new shares and a cash injection into VB rather than buying 15% from existing investors (ie like SRB). |

Is it really a good idea for Air NZ to get involved with an Australian Domestic Airline......................Again???????

The current Air NZ is very different from the airline of 10 years ago ... and DJ is a long way from being the overstaffed , lets-have-one-of-every-aircraft-in-our-fleet mess which was AN . It could work ... but I have doubts that NZs main shareholder would permit them to try .
