Default Rocky Airport Flooding

Anyone heading to Rocky this week might want to check if the airport is open.

Rockhampton is expecting a 9mtr+ flood and the airport is expected to be closed at midday tomorrow (Monday 03/04/17).

The flood is expected to be bigger than the 1954 flood and the airport may be closed for several days.

Situation normal for Rocky when it floods, which is becoming almost a yearly event.

Rocky flood peaked around lunchtime today with the airport expected to re-open on 12/04/2017.

The re-open date is subject to change due to the time it takes for the flood waters to fall and the airport cleanup.
