Under ASX rules of continuous disclosure if the numbers were "not good" then DJ cannot wait until the 23rd to announce these.

http://www.asx.com.au/resources/listing_rules.htm
Quote:
ASX Listing Rules

All listed corporations must continue to meet certain requirements in order to be listed on ASX.

ASX Listing Rules include:

•Continuous Disclosure. Companies must immediately notify ASX if there is any information likely to affect the share price.
So I think you can put to rest that theory?

VB already put out a media statement a few weeks back saying it's 6 monthly profits will be lower than forecast due to the IT problem and the weather issues on Qld. So the figures that come out next week will not be a big surprise.

You can keep flogging that dead horse until it turns into glue Andrew - the fact is the continuous disclosure rules exist and have been applied as previously pointed out to you. The market has already factored in their expectations based on the revised guidance issued after the close of the period being reported. It really ain't going to change markedly from there no matter how much you may wish it to.

The updates to the game change strategy have been long heralded to come out at this time.

Robert

As the saying goes, “the devil is in the details”

Continuous disclosure rules are needed, but show me any company that uses such rules to disclose the details such as:- Segmental reporting, Cash flow, short term outlook, dividend cover (if any), EBIT, effective tax rate, inventory levels & turns, debt and interest paid.

I could go on for pages of facts that come out in Interim and Final Announcements, as well as the Annual Report. These facts rarely come out in special one off ASX announcements.

Just look at the number of share prices that move when Interim and Final announcements are announced.

So as for Virgin Blue, what financial information is announced will be read with interest by the serious press and the analysts: even its 25 January profit warning said an update will be provided in this week’s announcement.

So as to the announcement what is the better headlines in the popular press:- profit down/flat or the new Virgin name brand future etc etc.

If I was management the 2nd is much more desirable. (The average punter in the street has no idea Virgin Blue is announcing a new branding etc)

Banjo

Going by the ibhomeradar.com web site she has not moved from Melbourne since the 13th!

If this is correct it does not take that long to slap some decals on it, and was wondering if it could be the first full livery a/c. That is if it's still in Melbourne?
