Maybe they could turn off the runway lights just for its landing and taxi to hanger then turn the lights back on after. Too prevent an early photo release.

Surely we should be talking about "paint jobs" and not "decals" for the new scheme ?

And another thought -a previous thread mentioned that Virgin sent the overall white A330, VH-XFA, to China to film a new commercial or parts thereof with Chinese and Caucasian extras.

Why would they go to that expense unless there may be new routes under consideration ? And perhaps the new scheme will be added by computer generation in the post production process ?

And you've tried driving down a Freeway/motorway at 110 OR the speed limit WITHOUT lights have you??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is certain elements of the scheme will be a decal, like the Flying Lady. Some names can be applied via decal or paint depending on the job.

I would recommend getting a good position near 16R or 34L on 4 May by 9.30am.

Regards.

Daylight???

Maybe they will time the announcement with the arrival of the aircraft??

e.g. "....as we now become Virgin Australia!!.....[insert A330 and 737 arriving in new livery]"

I could see that.

Ok this is interesting.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/busi...rom=public_rss

While the end of the article looks irrelevant, it clearly says Sydney on May the 4th.

And that the new logo has been denied....whatever!!!

Not sure why it has to be an up to the last minute surprise... most of ordinary Australia doesn't give a hoot about it - I am going by the ordinary Australian who doesn't care about changing the word "Blue" to "Australia" or adding a bit of purple to a white plane. It is ""Virgin"" to most, Virgin Green or Virgin Burgundy, whatever - who cares? Plane spotters do lol.

I waffle on to people about how Virgin is doing this, and they look at me with a vacant look as if to ask me "how do you want me to react?" LOL.

I am excited though, fantastic airline!

Now to give Qantas a much needed facelift... Qantas Yellow...

They better hope the rebranding does something SERIOUSLY significant for their share holders. Current share price is 28.5c and falling by around .5c a day lately. At this rate, in around 57 days the airline will be worth.......nothing
